Stills were created for Widespread Creative for their upcoming film “Bite to Bite” which documents the story of a Bluefin Tuna, the most prized Sushi in Japan. We followed one fish’s epic journey from the time it bites the hook in Nova Scotia, Canada all the way through the Tsukiji Market in Japan and then to the restaurant where he is served. The film takes an anthropological standpoint focusing on Canadian fishermen, Dennis and Lloyd, who have been fishing these highly sought after fish for generations. The Canadians are known for providing some of the highest quality Bluefin since regulations don’t allow them to overfish and they have take great care in preparing the fish after it is caught . They are accompanied by Robbie Schallert, marine biologist.
